Dr. Kevin Bourgault was born, raised, and educated on the Skokomish Indian Reservation in Washington State. At 17, he left the reservation and joined the Army as an infantryman with the 10th Mountain Division (with combat in Somalia, 1992-93). Following his service, he earned a PhD in Education at the University of Oregon and a Masters Degree in Public Policy at Duke University. His policy areas of interest and expertise involve veterans integration issues - including education, employment, housing, and mental health. Today, he serves as a Secretary for the Veterans Legacy Project of Oregon; a community-based, non-profit developing a treatment, therapy, and integration wellness camp for at-risk veterans in Oregon.
